The Story

Founded by Canan Bozkurt, Cua Atelier is an accessorize and jewelry design studio that creates custom stories with every piece.

When the journey first started in 2014, Cua Atelier was designing bridal hair accessories such as hair vines, tiaras, combs, etc. By 2019, Canan set her mind on jewelry design and went through a long artizan training at the Grand Bazaar, the most famous center of goldsmithing in the world. Within the mentorships of artisans, goldsmith masters Canan had a 2-year course on traditional techniques, craftsmanship culture, design methodologies, and sourcing management. At the end of this training session, Cua Atelier took a step into a new phase which includes a new design aspect and craftsmanship techniques to create value from material selection to labor.

In 2021, Cua Atelier started to work at a new studio located in Karakoy, one of the most historical and cultural districts of Istanbul. Today, the atelier is providing hand-made designs; such as hair accessories and jewelry.

Within the consciousness of sustainability, the brand is adopting "slow production" act for the manufacturing principle. Contrary to the mass production and fast consumption culture; Cua Atelier prepares each piece made-to-order for the conscious use of materials and fine crafting in details. So even the pieces are preferred to wear only for a "special day" in life; within the finesse handmade quality and materials, every design turns into timeless pieces to immortalize those special moments.

In Cua Atelier's workshop in Karakoy, multiple handcraft styles, different disciplines, and production techniques are worked together. From sewing to lace embroidery, metalsmithing to stone setting, 3d modeling to bespoke design, comprehensive and product-oriented techniques are the main cores of labor. Quality-oriented precious and semi-precious stones, crystals, baroque pearls, bronze, brass, silver, and gold/gold plated metals, textiles coming from recycling, or upcycling resources give life to unique designs.

Each timeless piece, created gently for special moments, tells its own story…
